A new experience

So, I don't normally do these things, but went to a "music jam" this evening. Being a professional musician, you often don't get to just do music for fun, although I would argue that music is my life, therefore it is always fun, or the epitome of enjoyable. I sang my version of The Rose at one point, and looked over to see someone wiping their eyes. That is the highlight of my life as a singer/musician - that I can touch someone in an audience so deeply. It does not have to be tears, but often it is. I am a classically trained singer/musician, but I also perform Celtic and popular music. I've even sung an Ozzie Osborne song in church (Dreamer - check out the words). At the age of 71, I feel I am even better, musically, than when I was 31. I've had some interesting and sometimes, horrific, life experiences, but I always had the music to keep me going. It's been an incredible life, so far, and I am looking forward to many more years doing what I love.
