Coming out of Covid

The past couple of years have been difficult, in more than just Covid-related scenarios. I lost my precious oldest sister just after lockdown started and had to do her memorial service via cellphone. This past fall we finally had an in-person service for all family who could be there. By request, I sang the song I had written for my nephew's (her son's) memorial service.

Then, just before Christmas in 2021, my mom crossed over the bridge to the collective consciousness. At 105, she had lived a long and fulfilling life, but it just seemed she would go on forever here on earth.

I have learned to teach music remotely via the internet, but it is a lot more work than in-person, especially the singing lessons. I am thankful for all of my students who were able to navigate this with me, and I think we have all learned much from the experience.

I am so happy that we are returning to whatever semblance of normal that now exists, but it certainly feels different than pre-Covid. Oddly enough, I thought I would be inspired to write more music during Covid, but, somehow, the inspiration wasn't there. I only wrote one song for my mom's memorial service. I am feeling more inspiration daily now that the lockdowns are behind us (yes, please, no more lockdowns - I don't honestly think they helped anyone except big business).

I am so happy to have students back in person and so happy to be able to attend and be part of live music events. I did manage to post a few songs on facebook during Covid, and will get back to doing that, as well as on my website, now that things have opened up.

It's been quite a journey, but isn't that what life here on earth is all about? It's all about the journey. I am looking forward to many positive and exciting things as we go forward.
